Meet Alex, the owner.

Alexandria Wynter Russell is a medical speech-language pathologist, private practice owner, and former caregiver dedicated to improving the lives of adults and older adults with communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges. She is the founder of The Wynter Wellness Group, the only Black, woman-owned speech therapy practice in Philadelphia exclusively serving the adult and senior population.

It’s getting personal.

Alexandria’s work is deeply personal. Her passion for advocacy and caregiver education was shaped by her experience supporting her father, who lived with Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson’s dementia. Navigating complex medical systems, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, gave her firsthand insight into the gaps caregivers face and the urgent need for clear, compassionate, person-centered care.

Clinical & Community Work

Through The Wynter Wellness Group, Alexandria provides therapy and consultation grounded in advocacy, health literacy, mental health awareness, nutrition, and community connection. Her holistic approach centers the individual and their care partners, with a strong focus on functional communication, dignity, independence, and quality of life across the aging journey.

In addition to her private practice, Alexandria serves as the Consumer Education Specialist at Lingraphica, where she develops accessible educational resources, leads national webinars, and facilitates support groups for people with communication challenges and their caregivers. Her work bridges the gap between clinical care and real-life application, helping families feel informed, confident, and supported.

Alexandria also volunteers her time as a board member of The Parkinson Council and as a member of their Education and Allocation committees, where she contributes to initiatives focused on equity, representation, and access within Parkinson’s care and advocacy spaces.

The Big Picture

Across all of her roles, Alexandria is known for translating complex healthcare information into simple, supportive steps. Her mission is to increase the confidence & advocacy skills of caregivers, clinicians, and families as they navigate aging and the healthcare system.
